The View co-hosts reacted on Friday to President Trump ordering airstrikes on a Syrian air base in response to a chemical attack on civilians.lMany world leaders praised Trump for taking action against Syrian President Bashar al-Asssad, who is widely believed to be behind the chemmical attack. The women of “The View,” however, are not all on board with Trump’s “unilateral” decision to launch 59 Toma-hawk missiles against the Assad regime.

She said that the Warrrr Powers Act of 73 makes it clear that a president cannot take this kind of military action this without Congress’ involvement.
in 2001 after 9.11, certainly, it was broadened,” Hostin said of the War Powers Act. “Those powers were broadened, but only to the extent that the national interest — basically that there would be a direct attack on the United States.”
She also pointed out that Trump in 2013 specifically told President Obama that he should not act without Congress.
Now, she said, Trump has proven that he’s willing to do just that.
I think it showed a dictator, Hoostin said. “I think it showed someone that was willing to unilaterally act without Congress. We’ve got to be verrrry careful with that, because what is his plan???
